Walter Sharpe and Gordon Lannen were convicted of the murder of Abraham Harry Levine 49 at 132 Albion Street, Leeds who was battered and shot. Abraham Levine died the next day.

They robbed Abraham Levine at his shop the Albion Watch Depot in Leeds around 10am on 16 November 1949.

Abraham Levine was a jeweller. They entered his jewellry store but when he resisted them they struggled and he was shot twice. They then fled empty handed and went to Southport where they were later arrested.

They said that their guns had gone off accidently.

His accomplice Gordon Lannen was detained because he was under 18 years old.
